Crop and Compress an Image
Crop unwanted image areas and compress the result below a custom KB or MB limit. Adjust the crop, choose a format and preview before downloading.
Your image stays on your device. Processing happens in your browser, with no image upload to our servers.
How to crop and compress an image
Computer or wide screen: adjust the crop directly on the image, then use File type and Max file size in the right-hand panel.
Mobile or narrow screen: the crop dialog opens automatically after you choose an image. Adjust the selection and tap Done. Then use File type and Max file size below the image preview.
- Choose a JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF image from your device. If a drop area is shown on your computer, you can drag the image into it instead.
- Move the corners or side handles to keep the area you need. For a tilted subject, select Perspective and adjust the corners. If you opened the crop dialog, tap Done, then keep Stretch to rectangle selected to straighten the result.
- Choose your output format. Max file size starts at 100KB; change the value or select MB if you need a different limit.
- Select Preview output to check the cropped, compressed result. Adjust the settings if needed, then download the image.
Crop an image and compress it below 100KB
First select the crop, then keep Max file size at its default of 100KB. The editor compresses the selected area for export, so you do not need to download and upload the cropped image again.
You can enter a different target, such as 200KB or 1MB. The target is an upper limit rather than an exact output size.
Meet both dimension and file-size requirements
If your destination requires a particular width and height, turn off Auto size, choose Exact size and enter those dimensions. Review the crop before exporting. With Auto size or Fit within, compression may reduce dimensions to meet the file-size limit.
A smaller target can reduce image quality. Exact dimensions and a very small file-size limit may not be achievable together, so inspect the output preview before using the result.
Crop and use automatic compression
If you clear Max file size, the editor estimates a target from the uploaded file size and the proportion of image area kept in the crop. Entering a size overrides that estimate.
Cropping and compression are processed in your browser. Choose JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF to suit the website or application where you will use the image.
